My eleven-year-old is saving for a new Lego set that is on sale until next Tuesday. He will be several dollars short unless he does a little extra work around the house over the next few days. So I told him that he could fold laundry and empty all of the garbage cans around the house for money when he comes home from school this afternoon. To make sure that I don’t forget, and accidentally do one of his jobs, he made this sign and taped it to the dryer door:
I love Lego today!

I found out that I have Autism upon having a son with the same disorder. Ironically, I was voted, "Most Likely to Succeed," by my high school classmates. But had I been born now, instead of 50+ years ago, I would have been considered a different sort of special. This site was started to encourage other Autistics and the people who love them . Oh, my. To be left such instructions!! I would make a cup of tea and sit back and watch. Perhaps even snap a photo or two!

As is turned out, I was able to get him to fold two more loads of the laundry the next day, and to vacuum three rooms and two hallways on Saturday – it was an awesome run!
