While perusing my church’s library the other day, I noticed a novel titled, “John – Son of Thunder.” Fascinating how John, who Jesus first nicknamed, “son of thunder,” along with John’s brother, James, would later be known as, “the disciple whom Jesus loved.”
John is most remembered for his verses on love: John 3:16, 1 John 4:7-8. His book is considered one of the first books someone should read if they want to learn of the love of God. Yet, as an early disciple, he was known to ask if he could call down fire from heaven on people. He was arrogant – asking to sit at Jesus’ right hand in heaven. He wanted his troupe to have all of the glory – not wanting outsiders to use Jesus name to help others.
Cool how God helped him to bend his boldness from harming others to loving others.
Proof that God can use all of us — with our diverse talents — to serve Him.

Nice post Heather. There is a little bit in each of the disciples about each of us. Great insight!
