Jesus Understands

We often hear about how Jesus is close to the downtrodden, the poor, the cast aside. But I just noticed for the first time while reading the Gospel of Mark, this verse:

Instead he [the man Jesus had healed] went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news [of his miraculous healing]. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.   (Mark 1:45)

Jesus understands you if you are one of those put on a pedestal by society. He understands the loneliness you may feel, how people throng to you when you need time to yourself, how you cannot go about your day as everyone else does.

Jesus understands us all.

I found out that I have Autism upon having a son with the same "disorder." Ironically, I was voted, "Most Likely to Succeed," by my high school classmates. But had I been born now, instead of 40+ years ago, I would have been considered a different sort of special. This site was started to encourage other Autistics and the people who love them .
